BULLETIN BOARD: DECEMBER 2008

Ed Kalotkin, our local physical therapist guru, was invited to speak to a group of thirty oral surgeons and dentists who are members of the Nanuet Implant Study Club on June 7th. The topic – the benefits of physical therapy in the treatment of TMJ (pain and compromised movement of the jaw joint and the surrounding muscles). Dr Brian Simpson, an oral surgeon who attended, commented that he found Dr. Kalotkin’s presentation “very enlightening." Grace Music: From seasoned singers to avid listeners, our Messiah Sing is a community favorite. Soloists sing the arias and you sing (or listen to) the choruses. A limited number of scores will be available to borrow. Afterwards, join us for some seasonal carols, cookies & cider. December 10 at 4:00 pm. Admission: $10. Children under 12 free and welcomed! Rodney Smith was a prominent American photographer whose work embodies a magical combination of style, wit and whimsy. Rodney tapped into shared emotional feelings that transcend borders or language – like hope, happiness and curiosity. He has a broad and passionate fan base all over the world. Smith passed away suddenly in December 2016 at age 68.

Smithsonian Associates and Anthony Wilder Associates hosted the Washington, DC debut of Smith's work on Wednesday, October 17th. Leslie Smolan, Rodney’s wife and creative partner, helped the audience enter his private world by sharing his work, his words, stories and the techniques used to create his unforgettable, magical photographs.

Palis-Agers. We will meet at 1:30 on December 20, as usual in the Community Room of the Palisades Presbyerian Church. We will provide coffee and cookies, share stories and talk about our problems and concerns. We welcome anyone who wants to drop in and join the conversation.

Art Speaks: Piece by Piece opened November 18th at Bell-ans Center for the Creative Arts. Piece by Piece is an exhibit organized to pro- mote the art and creativity of individuals who are affected by autism and other developmental delays. The exhibition will run through January 6th.
