Fire in Sparkill: On Sunday night, January 26, there was a fire in Sparkill in the building that houses La Bamba restaurant and store, Roost restaurant and the apartments above. According to the Journal News, an electric heater was the cause. No one was injured but the four families living in the apartments lost everything. If you have clothing to donate, it would be appreciated. Needed: warm winter clothing for men, women and children (girls nine months, three years and six years; boys seven years and eleven). Shoprite gift cards are also appreciated. Drop off clothing at Zapata Mexican Restaurant, 779 Route 340 in Palisades. For more information, call Zapata at 359-8700.

Susan Gersony, 10964 Treasurer
The 10964 crew would like to express its thanks to Susan
Gersony who for 15 years served as treasurer of our
newsletter. Susan and her husband Welton, a renowned
Pediatric Cardiologist, are planning to leave Palisades and
will be dividing their time between Jupiter, Florida and
Manhattan. They tell us that Palisades will always be part
of their lives, and they will continue keeping in touch
with the community.
