Very Large House Update
In the December issue of 10964
we reported on a 12,500 square

applied to the Historic Areas
Board of Review to build on a
lot behind the cemetery and next
to Larry Bucciarelli’s house.
After several meetings Erica and
members of the HABR were unable
to reach agreement, and she
withdrew her application.

Natural Gas Pipeline Expansion Project at Indian Point
Governor Cuomo sent a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on February 29, 2016 directing four state agencies to conduct an independent safety risk analysis of the natural gas pipeline expansion plan at Indian Point. Spectra Energy’s Algonquin Incremental Market project (AIM) is expanding pipeline capacity throughout the northeast, with the Indian Point portion approved by FERC in March 2015. However, in light of several mechanical failures at Indian Point, most notably radioactive tritium contamination of groundwater, Governor Cuomo is asking FERC to “stay and reconsider” its approval until the safety analysis is completed. Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten E. Gillibrand requested an independent safety analysis months ago, and numerous environmental and activist groups continue to demonstrate against the project.
