Local news Items for this fall:

After many years in Piermont, Ned Kelly & Company has moved to Tappan. They are still offering interior design services and floral arrangements. While the new space at 99 Main Street is smaller, they offer an eclectic mix of interesting home furnishings in the shop. Open Thursday through Saturday.

Rockland Coaches has added more bus times to their schedule. Riders can now download a Coach USA app to see bus schedules, buy tickets and learn if the bus is on time or running late. The early morning buses seem to arrive 3-11 minutes late, but many make up time and arrive on time, an improvement from pre-Covid days. We are still advocating that they add later buses for the return trip to Palisades. Consider leaving your car at home and taking the bus to keep ridership healthy. Climate Disasters Inspired by Great Masters, 26 canvases by Mary Tiegreen, will be on display during Lamont's 75th Anniversary year celebration. This series of images grew out of a combination of things. I have been working on a climate change website for the past seven years, designing the site and creating graphics. So, with climate change always on my mind, I added a healthy curiosity about AI and its text to image capabilities. I gave it a try, asking it to create a climate disaster. For example I asked to see sea level rise as if painted by James McNeill Whistler. And voila, in about 20 seconds there it was! Eighteen months later I'm still dazzled with the outcomes that are possible. The display is in the Monell Building at Lamont from October 19 through the spring.
