Letter from the 10964 Staff
Dear Readers: In 2017, 10964 will be celebrating 40 years of uninterrupted publication, an achievement we share with the entire community, all the more remarkable because the staff is and always has been made up entirely of volunteers.
The original issue in 1977 set forth its raison d’etre as that of informing the residents of Palisades about important issues that affected the hamlet at a time when there were very few news sources. We continue to fulfill this mission. Even today, 10964 reports news that cannot be easily found elsewhere. We serve as a place where residents can make their voices heard. To this end, we regularly solicit and welcome participation from all residents and Letters to the Editor regardless of political stripe or personal opinion; the newsletter in our view belongs to everyone. We would like at this time to solicit your views and opinions on what about the newsletter works for you and what you would like to see that you don’t see now, so that in going forward we best meet your needs, our readers.
