PALISADES “INDOOR” FARMERS’ MARKET moves OUTSIDE.
Due to gorgeous spring weather, our Palisades “Indoor” Farmers’ Market has enjoyed being outside. As the spring growing season begins, delicate greens and berries will burst onto the scene! Watch for the evolving fresh fish selection due to changes in the seasonal catch. Enjoy Fair-trade coffee, tea and other market treats with your friends at our outdoor café tables.

Originally scheduled to end May 15, we are pleased to announce that due to both farmer/vendor and customer requests, we are extending the market through November!

Up-coming activities at the Farmers’ Market:

May 8- Children’s Shakespeare Theater will host a Mother’s Day Plant sale fundraiser.

May 8 & 15- Organic heirloom vegetable plants for your garden from Hook Mountain Growers.

May 15 & 16- Book Sale- Donate your used books to this annual book sale (drop off May 13 & 14 10am to 4pm at the PCC)

May 22- Palisades Farmers’ Market dinner 7:00 pm. A lovely dinner under the stars where locally grown food is on the menu! Watch for more details. June 5 and June 12- Bursting with Peonies! Maureen Charde of High Meadow Flower Farm will bring bushels of peonies.

As the market season unfolds we will welcome new vendors and be scheduling cooking demonstrations, as well as educational, entertaining and children’s events.

Thank you for your support of the Palisades Farmers’ Market. The farmers have greatly appreciated this winter opportunity and look forward to the weeks to come. We are happy to bring regionally grown and produced foods as close to our Palisades tables as possible. We thank Jane Herold for sharing her very special mugs with us every week so that we can enjoy our to-stay coffee and tea! Spread the word! Join our e-mail list to receive farmers’ market e-newsletters.

Now that we have moved outside, we have room to celebrate the artistic spirit of our community. If you would like to showcase your art, play your music or share your healing arts, please contact Carol at PCC@palisadesny.com or 398-2521. Mark your calendars!

OAK TREE TRAFFIC, SIDEWALK AND RT 9W INTERSECTION UP-DATE
While we are waiting for the results of the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) traffic study of RT 9W and the intersection, in April, Jim Dean, Henry Ottley and Carol Baxter met to walk the area of the desired sidewalk. Ideas and suggestions generated by the community were discussed. Currently, the Town engineers are drafting a few proposals. After the DOT has completed their report, Town representatives will meet with the community to discuss the options and the next steps.
