At the Esplanade at Palisades, 640 Oak Tree Road
$10 ($5 for students) suggested donation to benefit the

Panelists will discuss different news outlets, their

and which ones adhere to the standards and ideals
that traditional journalists learned to honor through
their training and their organizations. Joan Konner will
moderate.
Joan Konner is a Palisades resident and Professor Emerita and Dean Emerita of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is an awardwinning television producer, television executive, writer and editor.
Marvin Kitman is a former longtime television columnist for Newsday, and the author, most recently, of a book on Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly.
Victor Navasky is the former publisher and editor of The Nation, an author, a professor of journalism at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and chairman of the Columbia Journalism Review.
Mort Rosenblum is a foreign correspondent, an author and a professor of journalism at the University of Arizona.
Study Buddies Resumes
Once again we are offering elementary and middle
school students an opportunity to work with a study
buddy. If you need help with homework, reviewing
material for a test, or sharpening your subject skills, call
or come into the library and sign up for this program.
We are also looking for high school or college students
who would be interested in working with younger
students for one hour a week at the library. If you need
public service credit for school or church programs, this
program will be helpful to you.
The program begins as each study buddy pair is matched. Call Lillian at 359-0136 or stop in and fill out an information form.
Children’s Programs
All programs are free and held at the library. Registration
is required. There are 4 ways to register: in person at the
library, by phone 359-0136, email pal@rcls.org or use
our online calendar www.palisadeslibrary.org and get an
automatic email reminder.
