history. It is also one of the most haunted regions
in the country. This program explores tales of
ancient Indian spirits, soldiers who still walk the
battlefields, old Dutch settlements, mansions, and

French Language Meetup Learn and practice French in a fun, collaborative, and relaxed environment with native speaker, Marianne Scordel. Bad Art Night Adults, leave your talent and good taste at home. Get creative, get messy, make a disasterpiece… and win a prize (or create something not-so-awful in time for holiday gift giving)! All bad art supplies will be provided. Registration requested. Thursday, December 7 at 7:00 pm
Esplanade Book Club A librarian-led book discussion meeting every month in the auditorium of The Esplanade at Palisades. In December, we’ll be reading The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See. Upcoming Meetings: Fridays, December 15 and January 19 at 11:00 am

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
Alpha Computer Science Club Build a basic website
using HTML and CSS. Participants will learn
how to insert images, videos and text into a page,
and also change the styling and text on their site.
Participants will need a charged laptop, and be
able to log on independently. Java Script will also
be discussed. Open to 4-6th graders in the South

It's Storytime! Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays, feltboard and movement games! Ages 2 - 4 with adult caregiver. No prior registration needed. Thursdays, December 7, 14 and 21, 11:00 am to 11:30 am
Holiday Light-Up Cards Come make a beautiful holiday card for friend or family using LED lights, colored pencils, origami papers, washi tape, and other decorative materials. Grades 4 - 8. Saturday, December 9 at 11:00 am
R.E.A.D. Dogs Come cuddle and read to a specially trained R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) dog who loves to listen! Children will read on a first-come, first served basis for 10 - 15 minutes depending on the number of children enrolled. For emerging and early readers. Wednesday, December 13 at 4:30 pm
Gingerbread Houses Come listen to holiday stories and decorate your very own gingerbread house with candy and icing galore! A beloved tradition offered by Ms. Carolyn. Grades K – 5. Thursday, December 14 at 4:30 pm
Green Meadow Puppet Show Teachers from the Green Meadow Waldorf school will present a puppet show for little ones using all hand-crafted puppets. Ages 3 – 5. Thursday, January 11 at 11:00 am
Spin Me a Yarn Listen to stories of sweaters and mittens and make a Ojo de Dios yarn craft to take home. Grades 1 – 4. Tuesday, January 16 at 4:30 pm
Family Book Discussion Calling all book lovers! Join us for an informal, lively discussion of It Ain't So Awful, Falafel by Firoozeh Dumas. Snacks will be served! Grades 4 and 5 with an adult participant. Thursday, January 25 at 6:30 pm
