SPECIAL EVENT:
PALISADES PLANT SALE
A collaborative effort by Hey Hoe Garden Design, Palisades Free Library, and the Palisades Community Center, featuring plants from the gardens of community members and local nurseries, along with heirloom plants, local vegetables, and breads and bakery items. There will also be a story time for kids, garden crafts, and music by the Hudson Woodpile Combo. Got plants? We'll take them! All plants welcome (gardening books, tools, and pottery, too!). The Palisades Community Center will be accepting all donations

ADULT PROGRAMS
POETRY & MEDITATION WORKSHOP
In this workshop with poet and yoga teacher Laura Zaino, we will explore poetry as a meditative tool, and meditation as a tool for understanding poetry. We will also discuss the relationship between creativity and meditation, and you will have the opportunity to (privately) express yourself through writing. Come read, write, and meditate. Be inspired. Registration required.

SWINGIN' AT THE SHANKS WITH THE BIG BAND SOUND
Travel back in time to the USO at the Manse Barn with a big band night to remember. The greatest names in Big Band Music performed at Camp Shanks during WWII when the Manse Barn was a USO Club. The Orangetown Museum, in collaboration with Orangeburg, Tappan, Palisades and Blauvelt Libraries invites you to celebrate their new exhibit, Shanks Legacy (opened April 13) with a concert by Reflections Jazz & Swing Orchestra, reprising the big band tradition with hits made famous by Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Woody Herman.

GENTLE YOGA This class will include meditation, breathing exercises, and overall attention to, and focus on, the body and mind. Practitioners will be guided through gentle movements while seated, standing, and lying down. The class suits all body types and ranges of movement. Instructor: Laura Zaino. Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one. Registration required. Space is limited to 10 participants.

CHAIR YOGA This one hour class will include pranayama (breath work), guided meditation, and/or mindfulness practice as well as gentle arm and leg movements while seated, opening up the joints and activating the muscles. A portion of the class will be spent standing, using a chair as a prop, for safety and balance. The class suits all body types and ranges of movement. Instructor: Laura Zaino. Registration required.
