HOURS
Open Monday through Thursday, 11:00am to 8:00pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Closed Sunday, May 8; May 30; Summer Sundays beginning June 19.

Springfest!
Saturday, May 7 from 10:00am to 4:00pm A family-friendly celebration of spring with gifts for mom, sidewalk games and hands-on crafts for kids. Enter our Jamis bicycle raffle, adopt a kitten from Hi-Tor, bid in our secret art auction, stay for a lunch of enticing smoothies, empanadas, and baked goods.

TAKE & MAKE TIE-DYE HEART POUCH
Tuesday, May 3, starting at 11:00am
Use colorful tissue paper to tie-dye a plain pouch and transform it into something special. A perfect gift for Mother's Day! For ages 3+

Add beauty to your garden with this fun planting project. For ages 3+

FLOWER CUPCAKE WORKSHOP Thursday, May 19, 4:30pm to 5:30 pm
Use seven (!!) cupcakes to create a beautiful and scrumptious edible flower. This program is presented by sweets experts from Chocolatier Matisse. For ages 5 – 12

MOVE & GROOVE

Sing, dance, clap, and stomp along with Miss Jolie and her ukulele! Program will be held at Sparkill Memorial Park, 600 Main St, Sparkill. Co-sponsored by the Tappan Library.

T.A.B. (Teen Advisory Board) Meeting

Bring a blanket and join us at the DiFrancesca Playground in Sparkill. Afterwards, have fun at the playground or take a walk or bike ride down the Rail Trail!

SKUNK HOLLOW: 19TH CENTURY COMMUNITY OF FREE BLACK FAMILIES NEAR PALISADES

Census records from 1840 forward show free Black families in New Jersey, just south of Palisades, living beside their white neighbors, in an economically independent, multiracial community. Some started their lives enslaved, but there was no generational “debt” owed to former masters. The community of Skunk Hollow grew in size and over sixty families eventually called it home before its disintegration. Who were they, and where did they go?

MARIAN POWYS: LACEMAKER OF PALISADES

Marian Powys, a unique and eccentric resident of Snedens Landing, was a renowned expert on all aspects of lace. Travel with Marian as lace carries her from her father’s church garden in Victorian England through the roaring twenties in Manhattan, where customers at her lace shop included the assassin of Rasputin. As a teacher of lacemaking, lace design, and the history of antique lace, she inspired generations.
