Holy Week at Palisades Presbyterian Church

This year there will be a joint Maundy Thursday service at the AME Zion Church in Sparkill at 8:00pm on Thursday, April 5, preceded by a potluck supper at 7:00pm.

Palisades Church will be open for quiet prayer and meditation Good Friday, April 6, from noon until 5:00pm.

Easter Sunday, April 8, there will be a Sunrise Service at the home of Nick and Cass Ludington at 6:30am followed by a potluck breakfast.

There will be a Service of Worship Easter Sunday morning at 10:00am at the Palisades Church.

World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year and who, in many countries, have a continuing relationship in prayer and service. This year our church will be hosting the event on Friday, March 2, at 1:00pm. Please join us for this worshipful celebration. There will be light refreshments in the Parish House following the service.

The Healing Service will resume on the THIRD Sunday of the month beginning Sunday, February 19, following worship at 11:30am. Prayers for healing of our body, mind and spirit have been a part of the Christian tradition from the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. Whether you are in need of healing or if you wish to pray on behalf of someone else, you are most welcome to join us.

Handel’s Messiah during Lent
Handel’s oratorio, Messiah, is one of the best-loved musical compositions of all time. Join us for six Thursday evenings in February and March (2/23, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22 and 3/29) from 6:00 to 7:15pm as we listen to excerpts from this magnificent work while studying the Scripture texts from which it was inspired. The experience is sure to deepen our appreciation of both the words and music of Handel’s Messiah. We will meet in the sanctuary of the Palisades Presbyterian Church. Our music director, Michael Shapiro, and our pastor, Angela Maddalone, will lead the study. All are welcome. A simple meal of soup and bread will be provided.
