Eunice Hagen

Eunice Hagen was born on July 31,1916 and died on May 28, 2013 in Nyack Hospital after a brief illness. Her great-great-grandmother was Mary Sneden, the granddaughter of Molly Sneden. Mary married Stephen Hagen who built the old house opposite the Palisades Presbyterian Church about 1800. Eunice was the last Sneden descendant in Palisades.

Eunice lived her entire life in the home in which she was born on Oak Tree Road in Palisades, New York. She attended the one room school house, grades 1 through 8, on Oak Tree Road and graduated from Tappan Zee High School in Piermont, New York. She went on to become executive secretary to a senior vice-president of New York Life Insurance Co. in New York City. She commuted into Manhattan for many years with several friends from the area, including Edna Wright, her cousin Lorraine Hill Stevens and Robert Stevens, to name a few.

She leaves her precious cat, Judy, who was the joy of her final years. Judy will be adopted by Eunice’s cousin, Lois Mai. Eunice was a lifelong member of the Palisades Presbyterian Church
