Letter to the Editors
I write to thank all the wonderful, caring people of Palisades and Sparkill. Last fall I was forced to take a medical leave of absence from my job at the Palisades Free Library. I don’t like calling it a job as it meant much more than that to me.
I was employed for almost 44 years and loved every moment. In September, I was diagnosed with leukemia, which was quite a shock to me and my family. I received so many encouraging and heart-warming cards, notes, prayers, flowers, and gifts. Many sent more than one card. Your thoughts and concerns have helped me to emotionally and physically cope with my condition. I’m feeling pretty good now and responding well to therapy.
I miss working with Maria, the director, and her staff. However, above all, I miss meeting and talking with every one of you which added to our lasting relationship. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart and soul.
