PALISADES COMMUNITY CENTER NEWS: May 2016
Thank you to our community! Thank you to all who have become members of the PCC and have given financial donations. Since volunteers operate the PCC, all donations and membership go directly to the up keep and restoration of this historic building. We invite everyone to become a member! Thanks to all who donated to our Annual Earth Day Tag Sale and our Annual Spring Clothing drive for People to People and pet supplies for Hi- Tor Animal Shelter.
We give a heartfelt thank you to our Palisades teens who volunteered this winter at the Palisades Farmers’ Market. A stand out is Sydney Nelson who, regardless of snow or a late Friday night, showed up at 8:00 am for 15 Saturday mornings to set up and sell. We also thank her sister Julia Nelson, Julie, Livi and Cassie Bartels, Marissa Cooke, Ellis Guzewich, Gregory Nemesdy, and Alec Goldman. Sydney, Julie, Livi, Marissa, Ellis, Alec, and Greg are graduating seniors and we don’t want them to go off to college without knowing how appreciative we are of their enthusiasm and their giving of their valuable time which benefits their community! We will miss them. Best wishes to them all!
Thank you to Chris Chin, Annie Gerard, and their karate class for covering the floor and putting out the tables for the market each week.
We all need to thank the PCC Board members who have been active in creating new community events, especially to Keith Buterbaugh and Lynne Sandhaus for their “putting on a show” enthusiasm for the Palisades GAME NIGHT and hats off to all those who were “game” enough to be contestants! Thank you to Ellen Galinsky and David Wolk for their involvement in the creation of the first-ever Palisades Photography Show and David Palachek and David Wolk for sharing their graphic artist talents.
