The Palisades Community Center is currently searching for new artists from the area who could utilize the space for their creative endeavors on a limited basis.

A DVD Documentary: A Living History – Palisades, produced by Michèle A. Balm and Susan Shapiro, features interviews with long-time residents Alice Gerard, Bill Knudson, Joe Hyde, Dorothy Davis, Albon Man, Herbert and Jeanette Kellogg, Loni Garrison and Dorothy Thayer. The documentary presents a rare glimpse into our hamlet's past as they recall their memories. The DVD is available for purchase at the Palisades Free Library or you can contact Michele Balm at community.center@palisadesny.com for more information.

The purchase of the DVD set ($35) will help contribute towards maintaining the Palisades Community Center.

Rent the Community Center Building

The Palisades Community Center may be rented for your own events.

Rental Fee Schedule:

• $50 Security Deposit
• $35* per hour for children’s gatherings
• $45* per hour for adult gatherings
• *Rates discounted per membership schedule

• $25 General Membership
• $50 Friend (5% discount on rental of building)
• $75 Close Friend (10% discount on rental of building)
• $100 Best Friend (15% discount on rental of building)
• $250 Life Long Friend (20% discount on rentals and free copy of DVD)
• $500 Angel (25% discount on rentals and free copy of DVD)

Restoration Campaign

We are excited to report that this summer we have begun Phase I of the Restoration Project, which is to be completed by fall 2008. This includes:

• Tree work and removal
• New fence
• Roof and gutter work
• Removal of railroad ties and regrading of soil
• Installation of new front steps
• Repointing of brick and foundation
• Exterior painting of the building
• Cleaning out of the basement
• Garden preparation

We are grateful to community members who have volunteered their time and services and/or who have made donations to help make these imperative improvements to the building a reality.
