The Palisades Community Center is currently searching for new artists from the area who could utilize the space for their creative endeavors on a limited basis.

A DVD Documentary: A Living History – Palisades, produced by Michèle A. Balm and Susan Shapiro, features interviews with long-time residents Alice Gerard, Bill Knudson, Joe Hyde, Dorothy Davis, Albon Man, Herbert and Jeanette Kellogg, Loni Garrison and Dorothy Thayer. The documentary presents a rare glimpse into our hamlet's past as they recall their memories. The DVD is available for purchase at the Palisades Free Library or you can contact Michele Balm at PCC@palisadesny.com for more information.

The purchase of the DVD set ($35) will help contribute towards maintaining the Palisades Community Center.

Rent the Community Center Building

The Palisades Community Center may be rented for your own events.

Rental Fee Schedule:

• $50 Security Deposit
• $35* per hour for children’s daytime parties
• $45* per hour
• $25* per hour for classes
• *10% discount for members
  
  Note:
  -To rent the building, you need to supply an insurance certificate
  -Maximum capacity is 80 people.

Membership Dues:

• $25 General Membership
  -$40 Family Membership
  -$15 Senior Citizen Membership

Restoration Campaign

So far we have made big leaps in restoring this historic school house. We have more to do, but so far this is what we have accomplished:

• Tree work and removal
• New fence
• Roof and gutter work
• Removal of railroad ties and regrading of soil
• Installation of new front steps
• Repointing of brick and foundation
• Exterior painting of the building
• Cleaning out of the basement
• Garden preparation
• Replacement of commercial fluorescent lights with historically correct school house lights
  
• Replacement of commercial tile ceiling with historically correct plaster ceiling
  
• Replastering and interior painting

We are grateful to community members who have volunteered their time and services and/or who have made donations to help make these critical improvements to the building a reality.
