Milbry's Artist Statement: In our chaotic world I have been drawn to places of peace and beauty, places far from the modern world in space and time. I am inspired by the ever-changing landscape impacted by water and light. My favorite time of day is about a half an hour before sunrise on the cusp of light and dark. The pictures in this show were taken over the past 6 years in the far north of Canada, the shores of Greenland, and the coast of Maine. One, image, marked by the lack of water is of the ancient floor of the Tethys Sea which once covered North Africa. The strange rock formations in the desert were carved out first by currents and later, once the water was gone, by sand and wind. I try to capture a moment in time in an ever-changing landscape buffeted by water, by storms, by ice Illuminated by otherworldly light Visit her website: www.milbrypolk.com For more information or sales inquiries, please contact Milbry at: milbry@post.harvard.edu / 914.522.2434 Instagram @milbrypolk
