WHAT’S ALL THE HOOPLA WITH EBOOKS AT THE LIBRARY?
The Palisades Library has expanded its digital collection. Borrow more at home or on the go, any time of day. All you need is a Palisades Library card, an internet connection and a device such as an iPad or Kindle Fire. Use Roku, Fire TV, or Apple TV to stream movies and TV programs to your television.
With the Hoopla app you can borrow eBooks and audiobooks as well as movies, TV shows, music and comics. Each patron can borrow 5 items per month.
Download the Kanopy app to watch up to five movies a month, featuring the Criterion Collection, classic films, foreign and independent films, and documentaries, kids’ films and TV programs.
eBooks with Overdrive and Libby
For over ten years, the Palisades Library has offered eBooks through a platform called Overdrive. You can borrow eBooks or audio-books, magazines (50 titles and counting!) and a limited selection of movies. The new “Libby” app makes borrowing and reading much easier. Choose from over 16,000 titles and borrow as many as you like but only 8 at a time.
